Taking Control: My Journey to What’s Next
First and foremost, welcome to my blog!
What’s Next will be a place where I share my insights and experiences, and sometimes even some funny posts about what’s going on in my life.
It took me some time to be ready for this, but I need to explore all paths, so I created this blog to increase my chances of finding a job.
My professional journey is not typical. I come from an entrepreneurial family and started working at an age when child labor laws might have been called into question. I might not have been entirely happy when my parents made me work in their businesses when I was a teenager during the summer holidays, but now I’m eternally grateful for the experiences they gave me.
But let’s move forward… Last year, I permanently closed Cibum Boutique due to burnout and started applying for a regular 9-5 job. In just the past 4 weeks, I’ve sent over 100 applications. Even though I know I have the skills and experience, I still face rejection after rejection, which, let’s be honest, is quite frustrating. And I know I’m not alone in this: two of my good friends here in Zürich are facing the same issues, and they weren’t self-employed, so they can provide future employers with all the paperwork requested.
This made me think there must be a problem with the system: Is the ATS not showing my CV to HR? Am I simply not good enough? Or is it because my German isn’t as good as my English, French, or Italian?
Instead of waiting for the perfect role, I’ve decided to take control and invest time in building this website. Through it, I’m offering my knowledge and services to those who need it most—whether it’s improving customer experiences, managing projects, or setting up businesses. This is just the beginning of my journey in helping businesses thrive. Via this blog, I want to demonstrate that I know what I’m talking about. I’m still developing it, but I hope you’ll enjoy and appreciate my honesty, creativity, and, at times, craziness.
So, without further ado, What’s Next?
